Growing up I was more of a girly girl. I wasn’t interested in sports. I did dance for a few years as a fun way to stay in shape. I did the typical body building type workouts in globo gyms before I found CrossFit.
What brought you to Panhandle CrossFit?
We started Panhandle in 2010. Adam, Jamie and I started hosting free WODs in the park on Saturdays. We bought kettle bells from TJ Maxx and did what we could with what we had. We generated a pretty big following and opened in a small warehouse. Our community quickly grew. We are thankful to now be in a 4,000 sqft building with so many new additions to our PCF family!
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I’ve been doing CrossFit since 2009. My training has come a long way since then.
What is your favorite WOD?
My favorite WOD is probably the “Chief”. I’m not the best at it but I like the way its laid out and its fun to do.
Do you have any advice for someone thinking about starting CrossFit?
Just come in and talk to us! I know it can be intimidating. The hardest part is walking through the door. Once you do your life will change! We have a ton of different options for all different levels. People see the athletes in the CrossFit games and think that’s what CrossFit athletes look like, but really that’s only 10% of them. Most of the athletes are mothers, teachers, nurses, cops, and regular every day people!
